Time for Some Nunzio's

In the wake of a 52-0 drubbing vs. Michigan and the exceedingly necessary dismissal of head coach Chris Ash and highly offensive coordinator John McNulty, it seems fitting that we buy enough food from Nunzio's Kitchen in Sayreville for our Saturday morning tailgate.

We'll just get 17 pizzas.

Just kidding...

But we are on for a noon kickoff vs. Maryland, which itself is having some troubles, though something tells me the Scarlet Knights -- like the cowbell for famous record producer Bruce Dickinson -- are just the cure.
Your interim head coach...

Anyway, let's come up with a tailgate plan.

We can replicate the breakfast spread, but that could be boring.

Otherwise please throw out some ideas, and let's wrap it up by Wednesday night to give everyone time to shop.

If we go with a Maryland-oriented theme -- you're talking crab cakes, Utz potato chips, crab fries/tots, pit beef, Berger cookies (Tom), Natty Boe...https://spoonuniversity.com/lifestyle/10-iconic-maryland-foods-you-must-try-before-you-die

Roll call-wise, I know Kaitlyn (SAT) and Skurat (Notre Dame) are out this week.

P.S. I'm sure you're passionate followers, but there's a good chance The Chris Ash Show will not be heard at its usual time on R Vision.

And I move that we open each tailgate with Louder Than Loud.

  1. I am officially withdrawing my name from consideration for the vacant head coach position.

  2. Witkowski (4) - me, Sharon, Adam and Jess. If we do go for the Maryland theme, I'll bring crab cakes although due to the noon start I will buy them rather than make them.

  3. We'll be 4 this week as Jen & David make their return. Crab Cakes would go over like a lead balloon with Jen & the boys. Beef sandwiches would probably go over better for them. Just my 2 cents.

  4. Well it doesn't appear there's a groundswell of support for all things crab, and I admit that the clawed crustaceans aren't my favorite seafood either, so I'll second the motion for beef sandwiches and instead of crab cakes, I'll bring a couple side salads. And regardless of whether Tom brings Berger cookies, I'll bring a Maryland/Baltimore type treat as well.

  5. And in lieu of Utz "crab" potato chips, would someone consider bringing tater tots (loaded or otherwise) with some Old Bay Seasoning to be optionally-sprinkled on the tots for crabby effect?

  6. I'll do the loaded tots, if someone else can step up with the meats and warm/grill them on Saturday that'd be great.

Also, RU was kind enough to give us 2 extra tickets.

  7. I'll bring up some Berger cookies this weekend.

  8. Replying for Eric and Andrea who still can't post to blog. They will bring hamburgers, hot dogs and buns. Can someone else please volunteer to bring condiments, cheese, burger/dog toppings and chips?

Burk total HC will be 6 with Eric's brother + family joining with their own 4 tix & parking pass.

  11. JC will not be coming. He gave his ticket to Dana to use. I'll speak with Pete to tomorrow to determine if we need beer or other items.

  12. I'll bring plenty of Miller Lite plus the 12 cans of Yuengling left over from the case BREP brought for the last game. Others may choose to supplement the beer selection/quantity as they see fit.

  14. If I got this right...we probably don't need additional beer.

    Pete (4) - salads, Md.-type "treat", Miller/Yuengling
Burk (2) - burgers, dogs, buns
    Labue (4) - condiments, chips n pretzels
    Tom (1) - Berger cookies
    Hobo (2) - Loaded tots, Schaefer/Narragansett beer, grill/tools
Dana (2), Basil (1), BREP (1) -- maybe you guys can stock us up with water/soda, snacks (chips)

No Skurat this week, and I also have a spare Hobo ticket at the moment unless Shane finds a friend to bring. I also have 2 others that RU gave free this week to season-ticket holders. So that's 3-4 tickets potentially available.
