RU-Iowa Tailgate Discussion

Now that we are up and running again, BREP-nation.com is back and bigger than ever.

 As per Bill's earlier post:
"I'm ordering enough steak (and prepping home fries and onion & pepper) for 25 people (~ 8 lbs. of meat), so if you plan to bring several others to the table let me know ASAP and I'll order more......
BRES casts a big shadow as he prepares for this week's game
I need to pick up the meat Friday by 6pm, so speak soon if you're bringing a ton of people along. We'll DEFINITELY need the second grill this week, mainly for warming the spuds and O&P. Someone needs to borrow one from a neighbor or something if Basil and Scott are not around."

  1. If Scott isn't coming, I will ask around for a 2nd grill. Also, I need an extra ticket for Evan and I believe Tinton Falls Scott (making his 1st appearance of the season!) will need one as well. Let me know if anyone has 2 extras.

  2. Thanks for doing what seems to most/all of the heavy lifting this week Bill. Is there anything else you can think of that would accompany what you are doing already? Chips, salads, breakfast burritos? I know cheese steaks and homes fries satisfies me completely.

Perhaps just the normal other items and we all chip in for your cash outlay and prep time for our "main course"?

    1. Probably snacks and drinks if you want; save your energy for the Oktoberfest tailgate you're running.

  3. Unfortunately I do not have access to a portable grill. I will bring the usual Miller Lite along with Coke, Diet Coke and apple juice. I will also make a Costco run for snacks and dessert.

  4. I will also get the usual case of Yeungling and get some popcorn.

  5. As per Basil's email:
As of now ... Scott and the 2 kids will have my parking pass and their 3 tixs, but will not be there for tailgating (they need to work around a 9am soccer game). They will probably arrive close to kick off.

I THINK I'll be tailgating (which means I need a ride for me and maybe a grill and whatever else).I'll decide tomorrow if I'm going to the their soccer game or not. I'll test and see tonight if my old red grill still works.

I'll chime in with more info tomorrow."

  6. It will be me, Sharon and Larry in my vehicle (Jen Labue is using my 3rd ticket) so we have room for another person & grill.

  7. I just returned from Costco and of course bought way more than planned. For the pre-game tailgate, we'll bring cheese & crackers, plus cinnamon cream cheese coffee cakes. For post-game, we'll unveil the ever-popular Costco cookie tray (chocolate chip, cinnamon raisin and macadamia nut).

  8. Shouldn't you be painting in the house instead of elbowing seniors away from the free samples, BurPeteO?

  9. Just finished painting our office this week so I needed a break. And I only knocked over one old lady in a wheelchair at Costco...and she had it coming.
