There isn't a ton to say other than it feels like the Terry Shea era and that it's going to be a long season if we keep giving the other team the football multiple times and run that option play where the QB and RB hug each other for four seconds three yards behind scrimmage before getting blown up for a 3-yard loss, but we'll have a half-dozen more opportunities to dominate the Black lot and enjoy great food and company.
Miss our tailgate at your own risk.
The long-range forecast includes some rain, but hopefully that'll change.
Food-wise, in keeping with the LA theme I propose pork/birria/breaded shrimp tacos, Mexican street corn, and California rolls as part of our menu, plus 74 desserts so each of us has three weeks worth of sweets to take home; chime in if this interests you and/or you have better ideas.
Just kidding on the desserts.
I'll offer to smoke the pork and/or do the beef. I made a ropa vieja for one of our World Cup tailgates that came out fantastic; can try to replicate?

Sam and I were discussing a taco bar idea where we can have people bring ground beef, chicken, pork, shrimp and steak. Might need to cook a little bit on the grill. Others can bring the shells, soft and hard, and all the fixings like sour cream, shredded cheese, onions tomatoes lettuce etc
ReplyDeleteSam is out for the game
DeleteI was just looking at Chris Ash's first year too. He lost to Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan St, and Penn State by a combined score of 224 to zero!
ReplyDeleteI am also looking for one ticket if no one is going to use it. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI no longer have have a need for a ticket. Bought one in a row right in front of us for 20 bucks
DeleteDana makes an off the cobb street corn we could do
ReplyDeleteWe may have our son and a few of his RU fraternity brothers. We’re going to bring extra food to cover them just in case. Do we have enough theme food? We could add shredded chicken if needed.
DeleteI think we got plenty of food
DeleteLike Larry said, Pat, only if you want; but we don't have a chicken so have at it if you must
DeleteI've got pinned on my tailgate vision board based on announced theme doing a couple of half trays of Taco Lasagne, will bring my sterno tray setup as well if anyone else needs a whole steamtray or two to use.
ReplyDeleteI've got plenty of plates, bowls, utensils, napkins in the bottomless storage box of tailgate leftovers as well so focus on other goodies if you need to bring anything. :P
Hi I am out for the tailgate this week. Hoping to make it to the game. JC
ReplyDeleteI can bring tortillas, both flour and corn. Probably 20 of each type
ReplyDeleteI have Pete and Als tickets this week. Bringing my cousin Johnny Skeets and friends Scott P., Gary and Jen. Jen is making a pasta salad. I can also handle bringing some shrimp for tacos
ReplyDeleteScott P will bring some homemade salsas and and chips
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very good menu! Eric and Andrea can bring a dessert.
ReplyDeleteAndrea also said they can bring some soda as well.
