| Just horseplay. Yeah, OK. |
Several missed offensive picks, plus a suspect roughing call with a passrusher tossed into OSU's QB, turned the tide early and Rutgers could never recover, meaning that this Saturday's 3:30 p.m. game vs. 5-6 State Penn is a play-in for a postseason bowl game.
The wheels fell off the bus early this season for PSU with the firing of head coach James Franklin but the team has responded with back-to-back wins to keep its bowl hopes alive and it's listed (only) as a 10.5-point favorite. Surprising for the preseason No. 2 team in the land and one we haven't beaten since the 80s.
Saturday's forecast is fine for late November at 43/29 and mostly sunny.
For the tailgate starting at noon, Dana suggested Philly cheesesteaks. If all are on board with that, I can order the meat, cheese, and rolls. We'll need sides, of course, so let's figure that out in the comments.
If the group would rather do something other than cheesesteaks, speak up. We're a democracy. Or at least we are for another 6 months or so.
Far as I can recall, too, no Labues this week. So a Happy Thanksgiving to them and to all!!!

I am concocting a Buffalo Chicken dip with dip-ables, and if I have time, some deviled eggs as well, but if you need a spare grill to get the legendary cheesesteaks made faster I can bring mine too.
ReplyDeleteThanks but no need unless you have a flat top griddle
DeleteYes I have the flat top plates for mine too. Will bring.
DeleteBurk’s are in, cheesesteaks sound great! Happy to bring a cheese and fruit platter as an appy or bring a side dish, whatever makes sense
ReplyDeleteAnyone not going and willing to sell their black lot pass?
ReplyDeleteLooks like we are good now. We have a group of parents and my son’s friends joining us in the Black lot and some are very much newbies. We’ll feed the group separate from this list but we’ll be there for much revelry and merry making!
DeleteI won’t have time to make anything but was just at Costco and picked up a couple trays of mac and cheese which I will heat and bring.
ReplyDeleteBREP will be coming along with my friend Joe from high school who knows Pete and the Labues. Al is out for the game. I will bring water and sodas in a cooler, and dessert. We'll also kick money towards Bill and Andy. Sounds like there's plenty of food already accounted for
ReplyDeleteGlenn is bringing coleslaw so I agree we should be good on food
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to all! I'll be in Budapest at game time.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I've given my ticket and pass to Pete.
Thanks again Tom. Glenn is using the parking pass but extra ticket still available
DeleteThis is JC, Dana and I are going to bring some scallop potatos.
ReplyDeleteDave and Jen are not going and may have 2 seats to move
ReplyDeleteSam and beth can bring grapes, cheese, crackers and fruit for finger food
ReplyDeleteYou may wish to coordinate with the Burks who already mentioned above that they would bring fruit and cheese
