Wisconsin pulvarized Rutgers in a game that wasn't even as close as 42-7 and has a long way to go to B1G respectability; maybe the transfer quarterback will make some accurate throws this week and the WRs will do their jobs as Rutgers hosts new conference member UCLA on Saturday at noon.
Let's assume the normal 9 a.m. meeting time and more banner weather (sunny, high 68) and use the comments below for roll call and what everyone's contributing.
If we keep with the opponents' regional food theme, Mexican is very much the vibe -- among the ideas kicked around briefly at last week's tailgate and that Dana brought up by text: tacos (fish, carnitas, egg and chorizo some options), street corn, chilaquiles bullshit, sushi, and chili cheese dogs.
Everyone please weigh in on headcount and food preference(s). I can make just about anything but will wait on opinions before buying needed items.
FYI that I have my curling league opener on Friday night with me and 7 scorching hot Canadian women. Sorry Pete, only club members have that privilege. Sucks for you!
Witkowski (6): me, Sharon, Adam, Dennisse, Julia, Tyler. I will bring sushi and the same bottle of LeGrand bourbon which we did a real poor job of emptying last week!
ReplyDeleteI will be coming up, bringing beer. I do like the tacos idea. I can bring about 50 of them. Flour tortillas and not the corn ones that fall apart.
ReplyDeleteBetter half and I so far, Erin has work, (Anna will update what's happening/availability with Erin's ticket later) I may take a shot at adjusting the tatertot bullshit casserole recipe and toss in some chorizo?
ReplyDeleteWill have plenty of waters as well if needed
Sounds yummy, Andy; can bring the grill for anyone that wants to put eggs over that for Dana spin in chilaquiles
DeleteAs Tom's bringing enough flour tortillas for the black lot, I'll make barbacoa, pico de gallo, and other taco bs
ReplyDeleteI also have chili already made; can bring if crew wants for chili-cheese dogs
DeleteHi--loving the Mexican idea! We can bring a 5-Layer Mexican Dip with tortilla chips. It can double as an appetizer and side dish. We'll also bring a dessert.
ReplyDeleteHi-Andrea posted that above.
ReplyDeleteI thought I’d do chilaquiles. I think an egg dish is good for our bright and early tailgate but I’m confused. Are we just putting eggs in the casserole? Is it all too much
ReplyDeletetoo much is never enough. plus I think a Mexican egg dish is perfect for a morning tailgate, maybe sans meat for the vegetarians among us
DeleteOk. I’ll make the chilaquiles. I too think we don’t need meat everywhere lol. So i assume we’ll have sternos as always as usual. I make Friday night and reheat I guess
DeleteI'll bring sternos and grill and think you just enjoy saying chilaquiles; thanks for making
DeleteAnd just to reiterate that someone else needs to bring plates and utensils, although I'll supply the chopsticks (and fortune cookies, which actually originated in Japan)
DeleteI usually have the case of plastic utensils and a stack of plates and bowls in my tailgate box, along with some plastic serving utensils and napkins
DeleteI will have some plates utensils paper towels. But I’m always impressed by Pete’s quality in that regard. Ironically I still call them chilalaquas too my kids bc I never knew what the hell they were called
ReplyDeleteWe can get Dunkin coffee and donuts
ReplyDeleteGlenn & Donna, as well as Adam & Dennisse, will bring some form of desserts so it sounds like we're reaching the breaking point on food. Unless someone wants to bring mimosas?
ReplyDeleteGood idea pete. Along withe the chilaquiles I’ll bring some bougie bourbon and beer. Apparently im consigned to being drunk enough to have it coming out both sides
DeleteHave fun folks! I (JC) am out this week.
ReplyDeleteJust a reminder that Jen & I won't be there. Tickets with Jen's co-workers Bill & Alexx. Be nice to them. :)
ReplyDeleteAre they RU fans?
DeleteDo we need any cheese, lettuce/greens for the tacos?
ReplyDeleteErin isn't going so if someone needs a ticket they can have it.
