Michigan State: Cruisin'. Cruisin'. For a Bruisin'.

It's time to look ahead after seeing the team I support -- and the other one I begrudgingly watched Friday night and help to fund via out-of-state tuition -- give up a combined 110 points to infinitely better teams.

This Saturday it's  No. 11 Michigan State on the Banks. Noon kickoff.

The Spartans are 5-0 and have feasted on cupcakes. Nebraska gift-wrapped it a W, and MSU's win vs. Miami may be its best, but that's even a borderline .500 team.

So to me RU is hands down MSU's stiffest test.

Heck, I'll even predict we win on homecoming day. So there, let it be said!

And let's be real. Schiano and Rutgers OWN the chop. Not Michigan State. RU's going to be plenty pissed about MSU's breach of intellectual property.

Please start the roll call in the comments below.

Saturday's forecast is iffy -- high 60s/low 70s and morning rain possible, so anyone with a canopy please bring it. At least we're under cover in the seats, and it won't be cold.

As I missed the OSU debacle, perhaps y'all discussed the menu for MSU already; but if not, I'm happy to whip up a few Jersey Tomato Casseroles and others can bring sides (potatoes, bagels, etc.).

Otherwise as it's our last game during official Oktoberfest (next one not until Nov. 6), that's another option if Chris or other wanna run (and as Michigan is home to one of the bigger U.S. Oktoberfests). I'd like to take a breather from intense grilling after back-to-backs for Delaware and UMD. Warming stuffs fine, but I don't have the energy to make custom egg orders for all.

Anyway, see everyone Saturday. Say 8:30 a.m. at the Wal-Mart?

  1. Hobo likely solo; Kaitlyn probably meeting up so I'll count as 2 for tailgate. May have extra ticket, we'll see.

  2. Given it’s a noon kickoff I’d prefer breakfast and maybe we hope for good weather and a later start vs Wisconsin so we can have an Oktoberfest in November.

Heating vs grilling also sounds good and If that’s the decision then I’ll make a batch of breakfast burritos (both sausage and vegetarian versions).

Sharon’s out. Adam may join with Sophia and potentially 1-2 others but I won’t know until Thursday.

    1. The bur-pete-o's, nice.

I'll do same, and can cut back to 1 casserole (half pork roll, the other veg). Will precook some pork roll too to give quick warmup.

  3. You know I always love the Oktoberfest tailgate, but a 12pm start makes it less appealling. Maybe 11/6 vs. Wisconsin. I can bring a loaded tot casserole since we seem to be going breakfast theme again

  4. Breakfast sounds good-love the menu so far! We’ll kick in some $$ towards the main courses and will bring OJ and champagne. We also like the 8:30 meet up.

  5. Looks like I’ll be flying solo for this game which means I have 3 tickets available.

    1. Pete, I have a friend from town who is interested in coming to game with his son and would buy your tickets. Is it OK if I offer to someone outside our tailgate?

    2. Yep! You can have 2 of my tickets at no charge. I still have 1 available at the moment if anyone wishes to claim it.

  6. 8:30 is good. My dad is coming on Larry's ticket. Not sure about Tom. We'll bring so sort of breakfast sweet.

  9. Where we stand for Saturday. Outside of Eric and Andrea's offering, let's BYO alcohol since Pete's solo and evidently no BREP to pound 18-24 Yuenglings. I'll bring a handful of waters, beer and maybe a breakfast bourbon or 2.

Bill (2): Breakfast casserole, grill for heating pans, usual supplies (table, cloth, paper towels, cornhole)
Pete (1): Breakfast burritos (sausage and veg types)
    Chris (3): Tot casserole
    Burk (2): Mimosas
    Dave (5): Breakfast sweets
    Dana (1): Bagels and spreads
    Basil, JC (?): TBD

  10. Re: the BYO alcohol suggestion, I have plenty of leftover Miller Lite and Yuengling so will bring regardless. If someone is only looking to have 1 or 2 beers then I've got them covered. And I still have a few Bullieves left so I insist we finish them since they're coffee-infused and thus a perfect complement to breakfast.

  12. BAz is IN for 1 seat and a ride in and out of game.
I'll bring a DD box of Joe to wash down the Breakfast foods.
